Net Pay calculates incorrectly

Question

Recently Net Pay for some employees is calculating incorrectly.  It appears some Additions, Deductions and Super Salary Sacrifice amounts are calculating incorrectly.  How can I fix this?

Answer

You may experience this issue if you have an Addition, Deduction or Super Salary Sacrifice amount set as a percentage of Normal Pay (Salary or Hourly Pay) entered in the Review or Change Payments Screen, Other Payroll Items section, after similar items set to a dollar amount.  These dollar items will impact on Gross Payments and the percentage item will calculate on the net Gross Payments which include the other dollar items. 

 

Workaround

Ensure all percentage items for Additions, Deductions and Super Salary Sacrifice are entered in the Other Payroll Items section above dollar amount items.

For regular items, set the order in the Employee Record > Payroll and Compensation Info screen.

When adding one-off payroll items, ensure that percentage-based items are added above dollar amount items.  (You may need to change an existing dollar amount item to another percentage-based item and re-add the dollar amount item at the bottom of the list.)
