I have upgraded my data, and now none of the PAYG figures are appearing on the PAYG report.

Legacy KB ID: 2861

Question

Why, after upgrading a data file from CashBook V8 to CashBook 2003, the PAYG report does not show any figures which have been entered through transactions such as pay cheques?

Answer

After upgrading the data file, it is necessary to make some changes to the expense category for Wages and to the Account which tracks the PAYG liability.

- Go to the Finance menu and choose Category & Transfer list
- Highlight the expense category which is used to track the wages
- Click on the Edit button at the top of the list or right-click on the category
- Check 'Salary, Wage or other payments (W1)'
- Click on the OK button to save

Now the Account(s) used to track PAYG amounts withheld needs to be modified:
- Click on the Finance menu and select Account List
- Highlight the account used for this, and click on the Edit button at the top of the Account list
- Now click on the Action drop-down menu (located to the left of "Account Attributes") and choose Set Tax Attributes
- Click on the drop-down arrow for the Transfers In field and scroll down until you find W2
- Select this and click on OK

Now run a PAYG report to check that the changes have taken effect. You should see the same figures appearing in fields W1 - W4 as you did in version 8.

How did we do?
