Tax Table information shows 2004/05 tables after installing 2005/06 Tax Table Update

Question

Why does my tax table information tell me im still using the 2004/05 tables even after installing the 2005/06 tax table update?

Answer

After installing the 2005/06 tax table update for QuickBooks Plus, the tax tables for the 2004/05 financial year still show in the Employees / Tax table information screen. In product information, the release is showing 'R3'.

The files 'taxtbl.oz' and 'payrollupdate.htm' are either missing or corrupt. You will need to copy these two files from a working QuickBooks directory to the customers QuickBooks installation directory.

1. Navigate to your QuickBooks Plus 2005/06 installation directory and locate the files 'taxtbl.oz' and 'payrollupdate.htm' located in the QuickBooks folder (you will need to have the tax table update installed on your machine).

2. Copy the files and send them to the customer as an email attachment.

3. Get the customer to copy the 'taxtbl.oz' and 'payrollupdate.htm' files into their QuickBooks folder. You may have to overwrite the existing files.

4. Open QuickBooks and go to Employees > Tax Table Information and select 'Tax Table Info'

This should now display Tax Tables for the 2005/06 financial year.
