Cannot Export Pays from Quicken Payroll 2002 to QuickBooks 2002

Question

After I select the correct QuickBooks file in the Quicken Payroll Preferences and tick the "Link to QuickBooks" option, my pays still won't export to QuickBooks.

Answer

Firstly, check that both QuickBooks and Quicken Payroll are registered. Also, if the QuickBooks data has a password, make the file that is being opened using the Administrator password. If the QuickBooks data is located on network drive, it is not possible to export pays into QuickBooks. The QuickBooks data must be located on the same computer as the Quicken Payroll program. If the QuickBooks file is located on the same computer, and the pays will still not export to QuickBooks, re-install Quicken Payroll. When doing this, simply re-install the program to the same location as previously (this will not remove any data). Once the re-installation has completed, go into the preferences and change QuickBooks data file to another file (any file, even the sample company). Save the preferences and exit. Go back into the Preferences and and re-select the correct file. Then make sure there is a tick in the 'Link to Quickbooks" option. The data should now export correctly.
