Leave available after import of Employee IIF is set to zero

Question

Why if my leave available after I import an IIF file, it is set to zero?

Answer

This is a issue with Excel and not with QuickBooks, once hours available are 24hours and above excel will change the data format from hh:mm to hh:mm:ss which causes a problem within QuickBooks upon importing the file.

Instead of editing this file with Excel please use notepad or a similar simle text editor to make your changes, the times are not affected and when imported there will be no issues.

To Open the file in notepad do the following:

In Windows click 'Start' -> 'Run' then type in the text 'notepad' and press 'Ok'

In notepad go to the file menu and select 'File' -> 'Open' and now browse to the IIF file to be opened
