How can I update the tax scales to accommodate the federal government changes for the year 2009/10?

Answer

Since tax rates change over time, you will periodically need to update your tax scales.
The tax scales for the 2009/10 financial year is part of the latest Payroll Premier version 2009/10. This includes the latest changes made by the Australian Tax Office including the new INB Payment Summary layout that is compulsory for the 2009/10 financial year. These are just some of the enhancements part of the new version:

Manage your superannuation obligations
Payroll Premier allows you to assign unique super funds (industry, retail and SMSF) against your employee’s record. It also provides information and links to the ATO’s Super Choice website, ensures you correctly show Reportable Employer Super Contributions, and provides two new payment summaries. This will help you comply with the latest legislation.

Be up to date with government legislation
Payroll Premier keeps you up to date with PAYG tax tables, state payroll tax rates and thresholds that come into effect on 1 July 2009. Also included is the new Business and Personal Income Payment Summary, which combines less frequently used payment summaries for certain employees, to ensure you comply with ATO requirements whilst reducing the administrative burden on your business.
