EMPDUPE file showing an income code of “H” where it should be “S”.

Legacy KB ID: 5582

Question

Why does my Empdupe file show an income code of Working Holiday Makers (H) for Normal Income Earners where income type should be (S)? I have generated the EMPDUPE from RAB 2017 R2.

Answer

Issue:

With the recent change by ATO, all backpackers or Working Holiday Makers should have an income code of 'H', and Normal Income Earners (Australian resident) should have an income code of 'S'. Please refer to ATO’s publication for more details.

We have identified that Reckon Accounts Business software generates an incorrect EMPDUPE file for: Normal Income Earner Employees (S), when they are listed below a Working Holiday Maker (H) employee in your employee list.

NOTE:

This issue only affects the business where you have a mix of employee record for both Normal income earner and Working holiday makers in the same data file.

PAYG tax calculations and payment summary are not affected by this issue.

If you haven’t lodged EMPDUPE yet and employ working holiday makers, then you need to apply the fix prior to creating the EMPDUPE.

If you don’t have any working holiday makers employee, the fix isn’t required.

Solution:

We now have a fix for this issue, and we do apologise for the inconvenience it has caused you.

If you have already submitted your Empdupe to ATO; you will need to apply the fix. Generate another Empdupe file. Mark it as 'Amended' and re-submit to ATO.

You may also need to print your employee's group certificate again mark as 'Amended'.

Detailed Steps:

1.Backup of your file. Close Reckon Accounts Business and restart your PC (Recommended)

2. Download the Paycore.dll file and save it to your computer.

3. Unzip the file > Right click and copy.

4. Go to Reckon Accounts Install Folder and look for 'Paycore.dll'.

Installation folder:

For 32 bit computer: C:\Program Files\Intuit\Reckon Accounts 2017

For 64 bit computer: C:\Program Files (x86)\Intuit\Reckon Accounts 2017

5. Right click the 'Paycore.dll' file, click 'Rename' and name it 'Paycore.dll.old'.

6. Paste the new 'Paycore.dll' in the same location.

7. Open Reckon Accounts and create your Amended Empdupe file. It will now show all the right income code for everyone.
