Flood Levy and Removal of Tax Scales messages when upgrading files to Payroll Premier 2012/13

Question

I have just installed Payroll Premier 2012/13.  When I upgrade my company file a screen relating to the Flood Levy appears.  What do I need to do?

Answer

The Flood Levy applied in 2011/12 and has been removed for 2012/13.  This window appears because Payroll Premier must now remove the Flood Levy from employees in the file. 

To upgrade your file you must click on Proceed with Conversion.  Payroll Premier will remove the Flood Levy from employee records. 

If you click on Abort without conversion, your company file will not upgrade.  You will need to use payroll Premier 2011/12 to access this file. 

 

You may get another information screen:  Removal of Tax Scales.

One of the tax “scales” used – Tax Scale 7: Claiming tax free threshold with no leave loading – has been abolished.  Scale 7 will be rolled into Scale 2 (tax free threshold claimed and leave loading applicable).  The table on the right will show the employees affected.  You must click on Proceed with conversion to continue.
