QuickBooks crashes when click on the Browse button in Backup options

Question

Why does Quickbooks crash when I try to make a backup? In the Save Backup Copy: Options screen it crashes when I click on the Browse button. 

Answer

You may experience this problem if you have removed your default backup drive. 

 

Solution

1.    Close QuickBooks. 

2.    In Windows Explorer, go to the installation directory (default: C:\Program Files\Intuit\QuickBooks (20xx-xx);

3.    Double click on reboot.bat;

4.    Launch QuickBooks and you will be able to make a backup without crashing.
