Quickbooks Account to Import into is blank when importing a QIF file

Question

Why doesn’t the dropdown menu for the field Reckon Account to Import into contain my bank account when I am trying to import a QIF format bank statement into Reckon Account?

Answer

To use the Import Bank Statement feature in Reckon Account, you bank account must be enabled for online banking.

To enable online banking:

1.       Right-click your bank account in the Chart of Accounts and select Edit Account;

2.       Click on Online Bank Details tab

3.       Tick the Online Account Access checkbox;

4.       Complete the other details.  Default settings are:

a.    Include Balance Record – ticked

b.    APCA number – 111111

5.       Click on Save & Close.

 

Now in the Chart of Accounts, your bank account will have a lightning bolt alongside it.

You will now see your bank account in the Reckon Account to Import into field.
