Question

'An error occurred on the script on this page' appears while using the Quicken Home and Business Help Menus, how can i fix this?

Answer

This can happen if your help files become damaged or corrupt, do the following to fix this issue

1. Download the replacement help file from https://library.reckon.com.au/library/dat/quicken.dat and save the file to your desktop

2. Rename the file from quicken.dat to quicken.chm

3. If you cannot see the 'file extenstion' please refer to 'Q9616 : Configuring Windows To Show File Extensions' or your operating system documentation for details

4. Copy quicken.chm and paste into one of the following locations as in the examples below, depending upon your particular installation and your operating system the location may vary;

The typical Windows XP would be similar to:
  i)  C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Intuit\Quicken\Help
Vista users may need to use the following examples to locate their quicken.chm as in the examples below:
 ii)  C:\ProgramData\Intuit\Quicken\Help\quicken.chm
iii)  C:\Users\All Users\Intuit\Quicken\Help\quicken.chm

5. Choose to overwrite the old file when you are prompted by windows.

Note:- If you are using QuickBooks please see Q4766 : 'An error occurred on the script on this page' when using the QuickBooks help menu, this article only refers to Quicken Home and Business
