You can elect to maintain some or all of your existing version 20 tax tables.... when upgrading to P

Question

I am upgrading my company file to Payroll Premier 2012/13 and I am presented with a screen that says in the first section: 

You can elect to maintain some or all of your existing version 20 tax tables.

And in the second section says:

You can elect to disregard the v20 tax tables and simply replace them with those that we have supplied....

Which one do I choose?

Answer

If you have not created or modified any tax scales then click on Accept 12/13 Tables.

 

If you have created customised tax scales and wish to use them in the 2012/13 version, then you must select Maintain 11/12 Tables.

You will be presented with adjacent tables:

·         Left side will show your customised tax scales

·         Right side will show the 2012/13 default tax scales

Tick the customised tax scales you want to maintain in 2012/13 and click Close.  Your customised tax scales will be available for use in 2012/13.
