Re-enter Your Password to Verify Your Identity in Company

Question

Why is QuickBooks asking me to verify my identity in the company?  I get the message:

QuickBooks Login Verification

Re-enter your password to verify your identity in company: 

When I enter my password it is rejected. 

Answer

You will get this message if you are entering the wrong password for the file.

This message often occurs when the company file being opened is a different file to the one you think you are opening.  You should check the company name immediately after the message and confirm it is the correct company file. 

If it is not, enter the password for this file. 

Care: upon entering the correct password for this file you may be prompted to reset this password before you are logged on.

Cancel this login and close QuickBooks.

Press the Ctrl key and launch QuickBooks.  QuickBooks should open to the No Company Open screen.  Now select the company file to open.
