Some fields in the BAS form on GovConnect are blank

Legacy KB ID: 5058

Question

I have imported my BAS into GovConnect and after correcting the PAYGI error, some of the BAS fields are still blank.  What can I do about it?

Answer

Go to GST tab and click on Refresh BAS.

The Issue

In the first instance you experience an error about the PAYGI field:

QB PAYGI option code (1) does not match required report option (0) from ATO Go back to QB to select option again.”

After correcting for it following KB4716, some fields are blank.  Re-importing the BAS merely brings you into the same error cycle.

Fields are blank because they are fields that are populated after the PAYGI fields are populated.  Fields populated before PAYGI (like payroll, PAYG withheld and other withhelds) show the correct amounts.  When the PAYGI error is encountered the import of data is stopped.

Clicking on Refresh BAS will reload fields that have not been manually changed in Govconnect.

Detailed Instructions

In GovConnect, go to the GST tab and click on Refresh BAS.  All information should now show.

If only some information is refreshed and fails to refresh after another attempt, do the following:

1.    Close GovConnect

2.    Go Simplified BAS in Accounts Business > click Refresh > Lodge

3.    Go through the wizard (Reporting Party and Current obligation) and you’ll get the PAYGI error again.  Remove the zeros in the PAGYI fields and leave blank.

4.    Again click GST  tab > Refresh BAS

5.    All fields should now populate with the correct information.
