Cross scripting was blocked error when lodging BAS through GovConnect

Question

Why can’t I lodge my BAS through GovConnect?  I keep getting an error message from Internet Explorer saying that cross scripting was blocked.

 

Answer

You will experience this problem if Internet Explorer security settings are specifically set to block scripting.  Disable scripting and you will no longer experience this problem.

Warning:  making the changes suggested in this note will reduce the security level of your browser.  Users should check with their IT professional on the impact these suggestions may have on their computers and the business’s security policy. 

 

1.    In Internet Explorer, click on Tools > Internet Options > Security tab;

2.    Click on the Internet icon then under Security level for this zone, click on Custom level;

3.    Scroll down the Settings box until you come to Scripting, and under that option you will see Enable XSS filter;

4.    Click on Disable;

5.    Click on OK to save and close the dialog box;

6.    Close Internet Explorer and restart it. 

You should now be able to upload your BAS through GovConnect.

After uploading, we suggest that you enable XSS filtering again to maintain your level of internet security.
