All Super Funds change to SMSF type after upgrading to Payroll Premier 2014/15

Legacy KB ID: 5142

Question

Why are all the SuperFunds in Payroll Premier 2014/15 set to SMSF and not just the ones I indicated in the upgrade?

Answer

Upgrade your file again.  Choose not to change the Superfund types during the upgrade.  Change the SuperFund type directly in the upgraded file.

The Issue

This issue arises when you choose to change the Fund type from the default APRA* to SMSF during the upgrade process.  All funds will be changed to SMSF*.

Reckon apologises for the inconvenience this issue is causing.

Workaround

Upgrade the file again.

At the Super Funds screen, leave all Super Funds as APRA.

In the upgraded file:

1.    Go to Lists > Super Funds;

2.    Double click on a fund that must be changed;

3.    In the Managed As box, select SMSF;

4.    Review and update all other boxes – these are required fields;

5.    Click OK to save and close.

*Additional Information

APRA stands for the Australian Prudential Regulatory Authority and is the legislated body to oversee financial institutions, including public and industry Superannuation Funds.

SMSF stands for Self-Managed Super Funds.  It is an arrangement that allows individuals to establish and manage a Superannuation Fund for their own retirement benefit.  These funds are supervised by the Australian Taxation Office.
