Why do I receive the error messages "Cant open file" and "Unable to open selected file"?

Question

Why do I receive the error messages "Cant open file" and "Unable to open selected file", when trying to access my CashBook 2003 data file, even though I have previously been able to open this file?

Answer

When you have a CashBook 2003 data file and try to open it in CashBook V8 it won't open the file but will do a Validate and bring up the message 'File Header is Damaged'
If you now try to open the file in CashBook 2003 you will receive two error messages - 'Cant Open File' and 'Unable To Open Selected File'.
There is no way to open this file in CashBook 2003 and a backup will have to be restored.
