Error - QuickBooks has stopped working - when attempting to open QuickBooks

Question

When launching QuickBooks  you receive an error message stating "QuickBooks has stopped working, a problem has caused QuickBooks to stop working"

Answer

This is caused by your internet explorer security settings being set too high.


Solution

This solution is applicable to all versions of windows operating systems.

In Internet Explorer, click on:  Tools > Internet Options > Security tab > click on the Internet icon > lower Security settings to Medium.

Then click on the Privacy tab and lower security to Low.
