Question

Why can’t I log onto the QuickBooks Online Provisioning Tool?

Answer

A common source for this error is your PC Date and Time being out of sync with the QuickBooks Online Server date and time. 

When you use the Provisioning Tool, your PC is networked with the QuickBooks Online servers.  To operate efficiently all computers in a network must be on the same time.  The margin for deviation is very small – a 5 minute difference will cause the error. 

 

Solution

Ensure your computer is configured for the correct time-zone and that your computer time is correct.  

To check your time-zone

1.    Click on the Windows Start button, Control Panel and then Date and Time;

2.    Choose your time-zone from the list – take care where there are different summertimes in operation; eg Sydney and Brisbane;

3.    Save & close

Check your time setting

1.    Check the time from a reliable source like https://www.timeanddate.com/;

2.    Double click on the clock in the bottom right-hand corner of your screen;

3.    Select the change time and date option;

4.    Set your clock to the current time and date;

5.    Click OK to save and close
