Upgrading from CashBook 2004 and earlier to a current version of Home & Business

Legacy KB ID: 5343

Question

How do I upgrade my CashBook 2004 to the current version of Home & Business

Answer

Users should familiarise themselves with the instructions in the Installation Upgrade Guide, Existing Users section, and available at:

https://home.reckon.com.au/support/Home/ReckonSupport/InstallationUpgradeGuides.aspx

Please Note that you will be required to upgrade to Home & Business 2005/06 first.  All required resources are on the disk/installation file.

The 2005/06 version marks a shift from previous versions offering both an accrual and cash based accounting system to a Cash basis only system.  If you require an accrual accounting system then you should look at our Reckon One and Reckon Accounts Business range of products.

Therefore, before starting the upgrade to 2005/06 you should:

  1. Ensure ALL invoices are paid

  2. Ensure ALL unapplied Adjustments/Credits are applied to an Invoice or deleted;

  3. Ensure ALL transactions for the day have been entered;

  4. Complete and print your BAS and Tax Reports for the current period;

  5. Print a record of all business Tax Reports for previous periods (eg: BAS, Tax Detail)

  6. Delete ALL Schedules Invoices and Customer Payments (taking note of details).

(Any unpaid invoices at the time of upgrade will be listed in the Property & Debt section of Home & Business)
