Customized PAYG Tax Scales are not shown with Flood Levy option

Legacy KB ID: 4169

Question

Why can’t I see my newly-created PAYG Tax Scale in the Employee Record’s taxation tab?

Answer

When you create a new PAYG Tax Scale, the new tax scale does not appear on the Employee Record>Taxation>Tax Scale list when the Pays Flood Levy 2011/12 option is ticked.  However, when the Pays Flood Levy 2011/12 option is unticked the new tax scale will appear.

Our Product Development Team is examining the issue.

Details

Workaround

Adjust your new PAYG Tax Scale to incorporate the Flood Levy and untick the option Pays Flood Levy 2011/12 for this employee.

  1. In Lists > PAYG Tax Scales > highlight your tax scale
  2. In Tax Thresholds with NO Flood Levy, highlight the entry in the table
  3. Click the Change button at the bottom of the table and click in the Multiplier field;
  4. Increase the multiplier for the Flood Levy:
    1. If ½% applies, then increase the multiplier by 0.005 – eg. if the multiplier is 0.1500 then increase it to 0.1550;
    2. If 1% applies, then increase the multiplier by 0.0100 – eg. if the multiplier is 0.1500 then increase it to 0.1600.
  5. Click on Change again to save the changes.  Click close to complete.
  6. On the Employees Record > Taxation tab, untick Pays Flood Levy 2011/12 and select the new tax scale.
